Ingredients
-
1 pound ground turkey
-
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
-
1/4 cup breadcrumbs (use gluten-free if desired)
-
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 large egg
-
2 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
-
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
-
2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, pumpkin puree, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix gently until well combined.
-
Using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop, form the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear meatballs on all sides for 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
-
Transfer seared meatballs back to the baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
-
Let the meatballs rest for 5 minutes, then serve warm, garnished with parsley or your favorite sauce.
Notes
-
Use fresh pumpkin puree for a sweeter, richer flavor.
-
Avoid overmixing to keep meatballs tender.
-
Optional add-ins include finely chopped onions, bell peppers, or toasted nuts.
-
Meatballs can be prepared ahead and frozen raw or cooked for later use.
